ELECTION TASK FORCE UPDATE : Abra Teachers in Ambush incident now out of Danger

The Department of Education would like to issue an update on the two teachers, who figured in an ambush incident in Lagangilang, Abra yesterday at around 4:00 pm,who are now out of danger.
The teachers, identified as Margie Labanan, from Collago Elementary School in Lagayan, and Candida Sullian, from Baybayatin Primary School in Abra, were on the way to Barangay Pulot to deliver election materials with some NAMFREL volunteers and military escorts when they were fired upon by still unidentified individuals.


According to information issued by the DepEd Election Task Force from its field office in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Labanan and Sullian were hit at the back by shrapnel and were immediately brought to Abra Provincial Hospital and Christian Hospital in Bangued, Abra, respectively.
